Right as you should all be able to see by now there are many things we are trying to implement at the club that you have asked for. We are aware of many things you (the riders) would like but please can you let me know if there is anything else we should be aiming for. I have put a quick list below of the things we are aware of. Transport to races - Minibus is now booked to all regionals this year and other major events. Regular training - Friday night gates and Saturday training is also in place Track to be made to national standard - we have had a track builder in to look at the track and give us a quote, the council have agreed to the changes and we are currently waiting to hear if we have been granted olympic funding (we do have other support and options if this isnt granted or enough money given). Start gate- we have a quote for the Bensink gate and this will be included with the track changes Bikes & helmets for riders to borrow - we are currently working on a finance application for this Healthier and more affordable catering - the council are now providing the catering for the park which includes jacket potatoes, bacon rolls, salads, pasta etc. - A birdie tells me we will have an ice cream van for our regional too More race shirts - Caroline has been working on this and we hope to be in a position to order more race shirts this week... we are also looking at race trousers too. Flood lighting for track - this is something that has only recently been brought up ... we will see if there is enough budget when the track is done, if not we will look at seperate funding for this. Go ride and club mark - we have obtained Go ride and are currently working towards club mark accreditation. Holding a National - We hope to get a national standard track this year then we can look at applying for a national at Dagenham next year So come on then, sensible suggestions below please. Its the accreditation that follows on after go-ride, its a lot harder to get and more involved so will probably take us a year but is definately worth having. Unfortunately the meeting about it was on the same day as Hayes Regional (as its for the whole of British Cycling not just BMX) so I was unable to attend that time but they know we are wanting to do this as soon as we can. If you go onto the British Cycling website it tells you more about it. Sharon xxx |

Jodie we have looked into the embroidered clothing but the problem is it is really quite expensive as you have to have their clothing ~ which is normally only the fruit of the loom stuff and bulk buy, hence Matthew is trying to sort out the iron on transfers so people can have exactly what they want on their own choice of clothing. Alternatively if anyone knows someone with one of those really expensive sewing machines that do that embroidered stitching then please let us know.... obviously we would pay them for doing it. Jodii, my children are too young to have sewing machines at their school yet so please can you go to your school and ask for us.
We know you can spell honey but the problem is where you put extra letters at the end of words, we spend so long trying to make sense of it I dont think your point always comes accross about what you are actually trying to say.

Hey, ain't been on for a while. Anyways, I can't remember who I was with, coming back from a race and I had my wireless shirt on, the one that got custom made for me from my record label, I've asked them where they get them and they have a contract with T-Shirt print in lakeside and buy in bulk, my ones for promotional by my record label, so we got them in massive orders for about £2 each, but there is a site > http://www.team-sport-bands.co.uk/customised-t-shirts-14-c.asp who have good quality and low low low prices. Take a look |

Hi everyone,
I have a friend with her own embroidery business and I am sure she would be happy to embroider stuff onto you own clothes.
Also the idea about lighting was bought up before the track design was even finished, and the council flatly refused saying that there would be too many complaints from the locals. Hopwever - it's been a while now, so they may have changed their views on it.
Good luck with the funding - there's loads of money out there, so I hope you get a nice bit of it. |
