Website Forum Problems & Big Race News

Hi everyone,

I thought I should mention here the problem we have been having with our forum. It seems our web hosting supplier has been having problems. (It’s to do with logical drive sizes being very different to physical drive sizes.) Basically what it means is that a few files have been going missing, leaving members not being able to log onto the site any more.

I fixed this problem yesterday (16th July) but it happened again overnight, leaving 7 members unable to log in again.

I truly apologise for this, and have written to my web host to restore the files, and also to guarantee that this does not happen again. Hopefully it should all be done by the time you get to read this anyway.

Now for some great news!

We will be holding the BADBMX summer regional this Sunday (22nd July) We hope it will be our biggest event ever! The track has been re-surface, and is riding really quick – so be prepared for some excellent racing! There is also going to be one of the Old School Sumer Series (OSSS 07) taking place along with the regional, and I am expecting up to 20 riders just in this group alone! They will be bringing along their “old school” bikes to race one – it would be worth coming along for the day just to see the classic BMX race bikes. These are all from the early to mid 80’s and some are worth thousands of pounds! However that won’t put the old school riders off at all! The series is very close at the moment, and there is everything to gain for the riders as 1st place overall can still be won by loads of riders in the series. Also expect to see some of the riders who have been out due to injuries coming back for this one – they might have a point to prove! ;o)

Registration for the regional opens at 09:30am and will close promptly at 11:30. Racing should start at 12:30PM.

Whether or not you are racing – you should come along to the track for this race – and see what BADBMX and racing are all about!

See you there!

Paul

onto the results

8 to 10,s final

We saw yet again a high class of riding from our BADBMX young un's, with very consistent results for all riders ,thru the motos to the final.
Manny Mbu in moto 2 was that far ahead of the pack in 3rd place he even had time to look over his shoulder, must have learnt that off his mum lol. The youngest of the 796 clan Mark rode with pure class, much improvement over the last few months, well done Mark.

11 to 14,s final

this I have to say is my favourite group, these guys have it all in front of them, I’m so proud of them, they never fail to impress me week in week out, what makes this an exiting group is there skills/capabilities are so similar it makes for ace watching, anyone of these fellas can get the holeshot and hold it, but for a fellow competitor to take it in some very intelligent corner passes. Well done lads

Joel Smith           #69          1st
Tommy Parker     #318        2nd
Warren Oster       #187        2nd
Jodie Bowden       #10         3rd
Dan Riley            #123        4th
Tommy Johnson   #97         5th
Alex Talbot          #33         6th     Rider of the Day

15+ A final

Martin Parker raced this group and gave all the other 7 riders a hare to chase, bwoy that Martins fast, Billy Purcell raced again this week, now Billy is more used to tearing up ROM skatepark than racing BMX, he came a very respectable 3rd overall and made up ground fast where his gate is a tad slower, in one moto Billy came out in 6th, took 3 places in the 1st corner, over the camel and back straight step up he took another rider and finished 2nd, well done Billy!
Excellent riding from all the guys in this group, take MP out the equation and this group are closer than close.

Old School B final

also 2 riders in this group, I’m sure neither have raced at B-A-D before, so a huge hearty welcome fellas.
Jason got the gate but John "flaz" made up lost metres and caught J by the 1st corner
flaz lead to the table top into the last corner and got swooped by J who then took flaz all the way to the rollers for flaz to get all out of shape and go OTB, no damage only dirty.

Jason TeHarve             #5             1st
John   Flaherty             #96           2nd

Old School   A final

as said above the return to competitive racing of ME lol, after finally getting the AOK from the Dr, I'm back lol.
after blazing in the OSSS in round 6 Mark Leetham #7 was on fire again, someone call the fire brigade lol
there was some very interesting battles going on in this class from wire to wire, all the lads trying out moves for round 7 OSSS which will be held 22nd July, same day as our regional.

Gary Porter                   #72       2nd

BADBMX Southern Regional 25th June 2006

Regional racing came to the BMX track at Old Dagenham Park on Sunday as 116 of the riders from the South Region and some visitors did battle for race honours.  This was Round 5 of the Summer Series and the Barking & Dagenham BMX Club were hosts on a day when many probably stayed at home to watch the football.  The well supported Novice rider groups saw thirteen riders representing BADBMX with the Jones girls, Billie, Leah and Armani, consistently placing 5th, 6th & 7th all afternoon in the Novice Girls group.  In Novice 7 and Under the group was split into two sets of riders and local boy Harrison Porter won a moto and placed 2nd in the other two and came 3rd in the A Final behind Miles Wade who had earlier had two moto wins and a second.  William Wilson best placed second with an A Final 5th ahead of Aaron Bennett.  Novice 11-14 saw a set of wins for Grant Turner who romped home ahead of the opposition.  In Novice 15+ there were six riders representing the Club with Gary Porter proving almost unassailable with two moto wins, a second and first place in the A Final.  Justin Wade from Wade’s Cycles at Buckhurst Hill who supported the meeting won two motos too but had to settle for second in the A Final.  Dale Steggles, who had earlier won a moto, finished the A Final in 3rd ahead of Gary Glock.  Steve Blackman was 8th in the A Final whilst Harrison Slater won the B Final.

In the Expert 7-8 group we saw Max Waghorn finish 2nd in the B Final whilst Max Waghorn was 3rd overall in the 9-10 years group.  James Humphrey had a fairly good day in the 13-14 group with 2nd in the final netting him 4th place overall.  In the hotly contested Male 17+ Paul Coleman was 3rd in the B Final whilst top Club and National rider Paul Bennett could only manage 6th in the B Final despite a promising second place in an earlier moto.  David Glendower found the opposition a bit too strong for him and best placed 5th with a C Final victory.

The Cruiser group saw 25 riders in all with age groups mixed together so that the younger Humphrey brothers found themselves against older and more experienced riders.  Despite this Matt Humphrey took a moto second and finished 6th in the B Final.  Brother James was 3rd in the C Final.  Darren Boughton rode well with a couple of moto seconds and 2nd in the B Final whilst ‘80s pro-rider Tony Slater had a first and two seconds in the motos but forsook his B Final place to get home for the football.

The speed with which the meeting was concluded was testament to the organisation ability of the Regional personnel and the BADBMX helpers.  BADBMX will be holding another Regional meeting on 16th July and continue to hold Club nights on a Thursday.  Details can be found on their website at www.badbmx.com
